The special kitty you are about to learn about hails from London, England. He survived such a horrific accident that when rescuers arrived on the scene, they could barely believe what they were looking at. Authorities in the area are investigating whether or not it was an accident, or whether someone impaled the beautiful boy on that fence in London intentionally.
POOR BABY
The ginger and white tabby cat was found by a shocked passerby at around 3:30 in the morning on March 9, 2018. The poor little guy was pierced painfully by not one, but two eight-foot-long metal railings.
RSPCA
When the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) arrived on the scene to make the rescue, they realized right away they were in over their heads. They called immediately for backup.
“When I got there I was incredibly shocked – in all my years with the RSPCA I have never seen anything like it,” said Deputy Chief Inspector Nicole Broster. “This poor cat literally had two metal posts protruding through his body.”
Broster told reporters that firefighters had to use the same equipment they use to cut people out of cars after a crash. Luckily, with the help of the fire department, rescuers were able to cut off the offending section of fence to send it and the beautiful ginger away for help.
LOVELY AND AFFECTIONATE
“I was amazed that this lovely affectionate boy was still alive and I knew I had to get him urgent help in order to give him the best chance of survival,” said Broster. “I realized that trying to remove him from the railings myself was not a viable option and could have caused him even more damage.”
So, working diligently with the fire department, Broster helped transport the adorable kitty to the nearest veterinarian for immediate medical assistance.
Once they arrived at the vet, Broster was delighted to learn that the fence posts “narrowly missed” all the cat’s vital organs. One pole pierced his abdomen, while the other one pierced his leg.
Using all hands on deck, they were able to save not only his life but also his leg.
As if this beautiful boy’s story wasn’t already enough to warm the heart, it turns out he is also a big fluffy lover-face, as well.
“It’s an absolute miracle that this cat is alive, and even better, it’s looking like he won’t even have to have the damaged leg amputated,” said Broster. “He is doing so well he’s already up on his feet and walking which is astounding, I can’t quite believe how lucky he is .”
Inspectors have no clue how the poor kitty ended up on the railings. He was not microchipped, and so far no one has stepped forward to claim him.
Suffice it to say that this good-natured loverboy won’t be without a forever home for very long. Luckily, he has eight more lives to go which guarantees him a nice long life with his family once he finds them.
