When Mohammad Alaa Aljaleel met this beautiful street dog, he knew he’d have to take her in. Alaa, who’s earned the nickname, The Cat Man of Aleppo, realized she was pregnant, so he gave up his room where she could have her puppies in warmth and comfort.
Amira Was Safe
But a tragedy occurred when the sweet dog, now named Amira, went into labor. All three of her puppies were stillborn, BoredPanda reports.
“We were sad and shocked…we gave her a stuffed teddy bear and tried to cuddle with her because she was very sad,” said Alessandra Abidin, founder of the Facebook group Il Gattaro d’Aleppo.
But then Junior, an orphaned kitten who was also rescued by The House of Ernesto Cat Sanctuary, noticed the teddy bear and wandered in for a sniff, LoveMeow reports. Tiny Junior ambled cautiously over to Amira and rubbed up against the dog. Now the two were friends.
“We found the two and they were playing together, and the kitten climbed on her back, and (Amira) was completely fine and even seemed to be smiling,” said Alessandra, whose group is dedicated to helping the sanctuary.
Amira and Junior even shared meals together
But even with the very best care, beautiful little Junior died. And her death was mourned by everyone at the sanctuary and on Il Gattaro’s Facebook page.
This was another loss for poor Amira. Little Junior gave her plenty of love and affection. Now she was depressed all over again. Then she met an adorable puppy named Henry.
Amira and Henry became fast friends
And they managed to be incredibly cute at the same time.
They frolicked together
And played with kittens
Amira learned how to be a mom
But best of all, Henry learned how to be a puppy with a mom who loved him. So much has happened to sweet Amira, but she’s shown so much resilience. Clearly, this dog’s tale has a happy ending.
