We all have the on friend or family member that are quite as happy about our furry friend as we are, they think it’s weird when we talk or ask questions. They think it’s even weirder when we interpret what we think the dog is “saying”
But, we humans really are really good at understanding what our dogs are trying to tell us!
Our four-legged family members know how to speak to us – especially woman!
In a recent study, 65% of women were able to accurately interpret the dog’s communication, compared to 45% of men. The article reports that scientists from Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary surmise that this is due to a woman’s “higher emotional sensitivity.”
Scientists also recorded the sounds made by 18 dogs during activities. These included guarding their food, facing a threatening stranger, or playing a tug-of-war game.
Overall, around 63 per cent of the 40 participants who took part in the study were able to identify the dog’s emotions in the growls
Anyone who lives with a dog can tell you what each bark, grumble, whimper, mannerism, and even facial expression means.
So is the real question can dogs communicate with us? or are we communicating with them efficiently? You decide!
