People adore Labradors. They love their sweet loyal personality. Labs want nothing more than to please their owners.
This sweet black lab, John Boy, had some trouble finding a home. Three people previously owned John Boy before he found his forever home.
Driving down County Line Road one day, Germantown police officer Jeff Gonzalez saw something that caught his eye. He saw John Boy frantically running and barking, trying to get anybody’s attention. The officer realized the pup was in urgent need of help.
The officer followed John Boy who led him straight to the front porch of the pups house. Gonzalez saw John Boy’s owner, lying slumped in the chair and unresponsive. Jeff Gonzalez estimated that Krystal was sitting there in the 3-degree weather for almost an hour.
The officer retells his reaction to seeing Krystal: “To be honest with you, I thought she was dead,” he said. “And when I went up, she was very cold to the touch; her lips were blue. But I was able to determine she was breathing and had a pulse. I called for assistance, and my partner was close. So together we got her in the house.”
The doctors in the emergency room determined that Krystal would be fine.
“They thought that she was dead,” said Tianne Wendt, Krystal’s daughter. “It was a miracle. My mom had two angels save her that day.”
Many call Gonzalez a hero, but he says he doesn’t want that. John Boy saved his owner’s life.
After running tests on her, the doctors determined Krystal has a heart condition.
