After being locked in a crate for a long time, this Staffordshire bull terrier seemed quite excited to be out in the fresh air and stretch his legs.
In West Midlands, Ty’s owners kept him inside his crate for hours at a time. The owners seemed unfit to take care of such an energetic dog. Ty seems to be about 7 years old.
After officers collected Ty from his owners, they let the sweet dog run free around the yard.
Despite his past circumstances, Ty seemed to be ecstatic to be outside for once. The officer said the sweet pup could not stop wagging his tail.
“This poor boy was confined to a crate 24/7,” Ms Gibbon said. “I took him down to the dog run at the rehoming centre so he could run free. He was so happy.” She added: “His tail was wagging 19 to the dozen. It was lovely to see him enjoying the freedom and fresh air.”
When Ty began his puppy phase, his owners felt quite annoyed with his constant destruction of their home. Because of this, they put Ty in his crate for most of the day.
“They were finding it hard to cope with him so began using a crate to curb his destructive behaviour.”
With no energy to care for Ty, his owners handed over ownership to the RSPCA even though they tried to work with them on training Ty to not be so destructive.
Ty now loves being out in the garden and playing with his many toys.
Ms Gibbon said the charity hopes to rehome Ty in a property with a large garden so he can “run, explore and play games”, where he’ll “never be locked in a cage again”.
