If you ride the D-line bus in Seattle you can meet this unexpected celebrity dog, Eclipse. It all started when the black lab mastif mix was a bus stop with her owner. When he was taking too long smoking his cigarette she hopped on the bus herself. Eclipse takes a bus all by herself to a nearby park.
“All the bus drivers know her. She sits here just like a person does. She makes everybody happy. How could you not love this face?”
Since that day, the owner knows he can always catch up with her at the park. He now realizes this smart pooch can ride the 3-4 stops on the D-line by herself and she always knows where the park is. She has her bus pass attached to her collar and waits at the bus stop and jumps right on that makes me laugh.
Although some law enforcement officers say the dog should be on a leash. But King County Law allows dogs on public transport at the discretion of a driver. So, as long as she continues to causes no harm to anyone and only make passengers smile, the drivers are excited to see her when she hops on the bus.
She always seems pretty pleased with herself as she sits in the front seat looking out the window. Of course like any famous celeb, Eclipse has her own Facebook page. Her profile reads “I love my big city life and enjoy taking the D line daily to the dog park.” Wow, I’m impressed.
Even though I have never seen this pup in action I have seen dogs take similar “jobs” very seriously. Hey, we all need something to do!
