Dogs are wonderful beings. They show us unconditional love, give us companionship and make great cuddle buddies. Dogs also come with many personalities. They can be bouncy, excitable, quiet and unpredictable. Dogs truly are man’s best friend. One family has a sneaky little pup that has a knack for doing the unexpected. What is it you ask? Their dog sits on the roof!

Five-year-old Golden Retriever named Huckleberry isn’t like any dog we’ve ever seen. Unlike other dogs, he doesn’t like chilling on the porch or playing fetch with a Frisbee. In fact, he likes to climb up on the roof and sit there.

Huckleberry – the dog on a roof has caught the attention of many of his neighbors.

Huckleberry’s owners were frequently visited with knocks on the door. Those who would pass by the house, as well as neighbors, were worried for his safety. Wouldn’t you be if you happened to look up and there was a dog sitting on the roof?

Family designs a sign for why their dog sits on the roof.

The family chose to design a sign that explained their dog’s unusual practices. Their sign begins with “DON’T BE ALARMED!!!”

“HUCKLEBERRY IS LIVING UP TO HIS NAME AND LEARNED HOW TO JUMP ONTO OUR ROOF FROM THE BACKYARD. WE NEVER LEAVE HIM IN THE BACKYARD WITHOUT SOMEONE BEING AT HOME. HE WILL NOT JUMP OFF UNLESS YOU ENTICE HIM WITH FOOD OR A BALL!

WE APPRECIATE YOUR CONCERN BUT PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK ON OUR DOOR… WE KNOW HE’S UP THERE! BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TAKE PICTURES OF HIM AND SHARE WITH THE WORLD! #HUCKTHEROOFDOG”

Almost every morning he climbs up onto the roof. Just like we need coffee or tea in the morning, this is considered his “roof time.” How adorable is Huckleberry, I would be shocked if I saw something like that in my neighborhood, wouldn’t you?
