On what seemed to be a normal day on the farm Ziggy disappeared. He was out running around on his with his mom when he found the drain pipe in the ground. At first, when he went down into it his mom wasn’t too worried it wasn’t his first time down there.
The 10-year-old Patterdale terrier had chased rabbits down that hole before. She was calling his name and waiting for him to come back. It had been awhile since he disappeared into the hole and she began to panic. “All I could think was that he was stuck and that’s why he hadn’t surfaced.”
The Flintoff’s spent the entire night trying to coax him out but still, he didn’t emerge. So they called for help.
When the rescuers arrived the had to dig two holes to uncover the pipe where Ziggy was stuck. They finally spotted him they had to remove all of the clay and soil from around the pipe. Then the trapped pup was able to wiggle his way out.
Ziggy had been in the pipe for a total of 19 hours.
Ziggy was lucky he wasn’t injured and is completely fine just a little scared. Hopefully, this teaches him not to go exploring holes in the future.
