Ever wished you had a job where everyone was always in a good mood and no one ever complained? A job that involved lots of fun and maybe even puppies perhaps? After all, what’s better than spending your days with adorable dogs and puppies who are always happy to see you and ready to play? How about a job that pays you $100 an hour to play with cute canines?
Well, dear friends, look no further than Mutts Canine Cantina. Because that’s exactly what folks at this Texas restaurant were looking for.
This Job Really Goes To The Dogs
Mutts Canine Cantina is based in Dallas and Fort Worth, and yes the pay really is $100 per hour. You might think there would be strings attached with a job like this.
“There aren’t many opportunities out there that pay interns to strictly play with dogs all day long,” says a representative for Kyle Noonan, who co-founded the restaurant. “Typically there may be other responsibilities that come with the job, but not this one. I’d be lying if I said this is going to be one ‘ruff’ internship.”
Another bonus? Pupterns would receive delicious food and drinks from the restaurant’s kitchen. The only bummer in this situation is that the deadline for applications was November 12. But imagine what a marvelous dream job this would be! The restaurant’s owners asked applicants to post photos or videos that showed their best puppy dog skills on Instagram and add the hashtag #MUTTSpuptern in late October, The Dodo reports. A resume and a job interview weren’t required. Applicants only needed to be at least 18, and not be allergic to dogs.
By the following Tuesday, more than 300 applicants sent in their photos and videos showing lots of dog love.
What’s also fun about this restaurant is that people can sign up for a membership, which gives their dog access to a huge dog park outside. Dogs can frolic off the leash or play a game of fetch while the puptern finds fun ways to keep them busy.
The internship is scheduled to last six to eight weeks, and the intern is expected to work up to four hours a week. That may not sound like a lot, but the pay is definitely stellar. And you get to play with dogs and puppies. What could be better than that?
