Falla revealed, “When a dog is matted that badly, it can cause its blood flow to stop as well as bruising to the dog.” It was clear the puppy needed immediate attention. Kari rushed the dog to her salon, BGE Grooming, and began working on the pup at midnight. “I knew it was bad, but nothing prepared me for what I saw. It smelled like death and the dog could not walk,” Kari recalled. She worked through the night until 3 am.
Kari eventually fully shaved the dog and gave it a bath. She then rushed the dog to the vet as quickly as possible.
