Anyone that abandons their animals in a field are the worst type of people. It is appalling to those who are kind enough to help them. One little boy changed the life of six orphaned puppies when he found them in the bushes. 13-year old Jonathan Flatt was walking to the school bus stop one morning when he heard a strange rustling. Curiosity took hold of him and he went to inspect the sound.
Little boy appalled at sight of stuffed trash bag.
He followed the sound to the bushes where he found a wriggling trash bag. He knew he needed to act fast. “I heard rustling and as shocked as I normally am I look around and then I heard it again,” said Flatt. Luckily, the puppies had chewed through the bag, making it easier to open it.
Jonathan was in awe, quickly realizing they’d been abandoned. As he told KRQE: “I realized these puppies are abandoned, they’re weak and stuff so I called my Mom right away.” Unfortunately, they weren’t in good shape. When his mother arrived, she noticed they were covered in ticks.
“They were covered in ticks, you couldn’t even see the inside of their ears,” said Jamie Flatt, Jonathon’s Mother.
Jamie also said they were starving. “They were not old enough to leave their Mom, they did not know how to drink water on their own.”
A week later…
Thankfully the puppies were full of life! This helped them to heal faster given their rough start in life. It took a week for them to warm up to humans. Even a 13-year-old boy understood that this shouldn’t have happened. Nobody should abandon a litter of puppies!
“There’s a pound right over there, they shouldn’t have just abandoned them and left them to die.”
Now, thanks to Jonathan and his mom, the puppies are living their best lives. “They’re happy, they’re alive, they’re going to have good lives, good homes, and it’s just amazing.”
All because a little boy heard something in the bushes one day, and he gave in to curiosity. Check out his amazing story below!
