When burglars kicked down the back door of Charlie Justus’s Tulsa, Oklahoma home in late October, they stole an irreplaceable piece of his heart. Forget the fact that they swiped his television and a number of other belongings. The burglars also took his beautiful dog Charlie, a one-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, notes TheAnimalRescueSite.
Burglars Broke This Man’s Heart
It’s easy to understand why a TV can be replaced, but if you really love your dog then you know it can’t really be replaced.
He’d noticed something was awry after plopping his coat on the back of the couch. Then he realized his television and other electronic items were gone. But worst of all, Charlie and his crate were missing.
Police are searching for the burglars, but Justus isn’t worried about this anymore. Because a stranger dropped his canine companion off at a local veterinary clinic.
Forget the TV, Jonathan’s buddy was home!
“It seems surreal you know it doesn’t seem like one, that something like that took place, but two that it came to a happy ending,” Justus said. “I’m glad it did, I feel very blessed. I thank God every day that my prayers were answered and that my little buddies are back.”
The burglary happened in the middle of the week and Justus spent several days searching the social media and calling around to see if anyone had seen his little dog.
Charlie comes home
Then the following Saturday, Justus got a call from the Marina Animal Clinic. It was the good news he wanted to hear, someone dropped Charlie off.
“Thanks for returning my dog I don’t think they understand how much it means not just to me but also to Miss Penny,” Justus said.
“I can’t focus on the negative or the bad I just have to move forward and not focus on the past and I’ve got him back and that’s the best thing that can ever happen,” he said.
We agree wholeheartedly.
