The heroes at Hope for Paws were at it again recently. The Los Angeles-based rescue organization makes the news regularly because of the dedicated people that rescue some of the most challenging cases in the city. Well, they have done it again — this time with a Pitbull found living in a pretty bad spot. They arrived just in time, too, considering the poor guy was too weak to walk when they got there.
LIVING IN THE BUSHES
The dog, later named Tarzan by his rescuers, was a stray who people said lived on the dangerous L.A. streets. Witnesses said Tarzan lived under and around bushes on the side of a busy highway.
He had lived in the area for a while. However, people alerted Hope for Paws when they noticed Tarzan seemed too weak to come out of his hiding spot for the food they left there.
It didn’t take long for rescuers to respond. Joann and Lisa showed up and found Tarzan just where they expected.

Tarzan has buried himself deep in the bush. Joann and Lisa had to work pretty hard just to get to his location.
TOO WEAK TO WALK
Finally, though, they fought through the thick brush and located Tarzan’s hiding spot.

The poor little guy was so tired, that when Joann and Lisa arrived at his spot, he simply laid his head down for a moment and accepted some pets.

While yes, the pair of rescuers finally got to Tarzan’s location — their job was far from over. You see, now they had to gain his trust and figure out a way to get him out of all those bushes.
TRUST
So, the way to any hungry dog’s heart starts with a snack.

It took them quite a while. Joann and Lisa worked together, all scrunched down in the dry, dusty underbrush, and eventually, Tarzan realized they were okay.
GOING HOME
The pair of rescuers gently placed a leach around Tarzan’s neck.

Next, however, it was time to get Tarzan out of that mess.
HOMEWARD BOUND
We already know the people at Hope for Paws are amazing. However, Joann and Lisa went above and beyond. Together, they worked and got the dog, still too weak to walk, out of that horrible brush pile.

Finally, the two heroic ladies got Tarzan free from the brush. They realized as soon as they got out, how very sweet Tarzan really is.

As Lisa and Joann sat down for a much-needed rest, Tarzan flopped his head in their lap. Now it was time to find him a forever home.
