Precious Rescue Pup Refuses To Let Go Of His New Dad

Stanley was found living at an abandoned property with his mother and siblings. A bully rescue in Christchurch, New Zealand rescued the little guy. Stanley was later adopted by Sam Clarence. The two have been inseparable since he fostered him, and later “foster failed” Stanley.

When Stanley first met Sam, Stanley was extremely shy. Sam was volunteering as a dog-walker at the shelter when he was approached about fostering Stanley. When Sam first saw Stanley, he knew he would be his forever dad. They were an instant perfect match. Fostering a dog is great, but “foster-failing” is even better! This is especially true when the pairing is a match made in heaven like it was for Stanley and Sam.

Stanley understandably had some issues to work through. After all, he was abandoned by humans. Stanley was shy, afraid, and skittish. Stanley has learned to trust Sam as someone he can always count on. One way that Stanley shows his gratitude and love to Sam is by holding his hand.

Sam remembers the beginning of their relationship. “He was terrified when we got home and it took him an hour to slowly come out of the car,” Sam said. “Once he got out, I gave him a big bath, some food and a comfy bed in front of the fire.”

Stanley is now an older dog. But he still loves holding Sam’s hand. Stanley loves to hold his dad’s hand when they are playing, watching television, sleeping and just about any chance he gets. It really is one of the sweetest things to see. The love and trust that Stanley has for his dad are just so pure. Sweet Stanley simply loves his dad so much that he wants to hold his hand.
