Pet owners were reluctant to let their dogs go out in the 9-degree weather, until Adam and Eva, two Labradoodles, rescued an 80-year-old woman.
It was 4:30 am when the two pups begged their humans to go out and found the woman. Lonnie Chester, one of the dogs’ humans, expressed some hesitance letting the dogs out because it was too dark to tell if there was something outside.
The woman was wearing nothing more than a nightgown. She’d fallen and was having difficulty getting up and surviving in the bitter cold. After Chester and the two Labradoodles found her, Chester called 9-1-1, and they came to the scene to treat the woman.
As rescue crews worked to save the woman’s life, her family came to Chester’s house to ask if they’d seen the woman. Without Adam and Eva, the woman probably would have frozen to death. No one can figure out how the two dogs knew she was out there, but their quick action saved a life.
