They thought the fire took everything one month later a surprise meow proved them wrong

In California, the Werblow family thought that they had lost everything in the wildfire there called Campfire. However, when they showed up a month to the day where their house used to stand, they got the surprise of a lifetime. You see, like so many others, they had to leave quickly with no time to grab anything. The Werblow’s thought surely the Campfire had taken their sweet cat along with all the rest of their earthly possessions.

We are happy to report that wasn’t the case at all.

THE CAMPFIRE

Now, we know that the horrible fire called Campfire that wreaked havoc in Paradise, California has been out for well over a month now. While it raged though, the fire was ferocious. It hit so quickly, and people had to evacuate in such a rush that thousands of animals got left behind.

We also know, though, that during that time, rescue organizations and even cowboys stepped in to find as many animals as they could.

The cowboys and the rescue organizations needed special permission to go into the affected areas, though. Regular civilians like Courtney Werblow and her family were not allowed to go back at all.

THE WAIT

It’s hard for most of us to imagine. A typical day at home with your kids when suddenly, boom, there’s a fire, and you have to leave now. Then, the mad rush driving away from your home and your pets.

For weeks, the only news Courtney Werblow got about her house was that it was a total loss. Someone sent her this photo so she could see what was left.

Of course, in the weeks between the mad rush out and getting back in, there are a million things to think about. The Werblow’s, like everyone else, had to survive and they had to make sure their kids did too.

A MONTH

Exactly a month to the day after her mad rush away from her home, Courtney got the call that she could return. She had no idea on the trip back that she would experience a miracle when she arrived.

As the family surveyed the house, they heard a familiar meow. They couldn’t believe their eyes when their kitty cat Timber came sauntering across the burnt-out lawn.
