Yes, everyone knows that dogs do the “doggy paddle” and, for the most part, they can usually swim. Now and then, however, they aren’t the best swimmers. Much like the dog you are about to meet, some dogs just don’t do as well as others in the water, and sometimes they get themselves into real trouble.
Luckily, the dog you are about to meet had some super furry help when he found himself in an emergency.
SMOKEY
Meet Smokey and Remus. They are two doggy brothers that live in Mesa, Arizona. Their mom and dad, Laurie and Jim, let them play near the pool all the time. They say that Smokey can swim, but he isn’t “the strongest swimmer,” however.
On the day of the incident, Jim had just stepped into the house for a few minutes. The dogs somehow slipped through the fence that surrounds the pool.
When he came back outside, both of the dogs were wet, though, and he couldn’t figure out what had happened.
So he went to his home’s security cameras in the hopes of solving the mystery. When they viewed the video, the couple couldn’t believe what they saw.

REMUS SAVES THE DAY!
When they viewed the video, the couple saw Smokey fall in the water. Then Remus paced a few times before he leaped into the water and, like on Baywatch, pushed Smokey out of the pool to safety.

Laurie wrote about the incident on Facebook. She said that the pair were “rambunctious” that day. Dog owners everywhere can relate.
“Remus may be a crazy pup but he’s got a heart of gold !! My hero,” wrote Laurie.
Luckily, in this case, a crisis was averted. View the video below to watch Remus the Hero pull off the cutest rescue in history.

Has a dog ever literally saved your life or that of someone you know? I would love to hear all about it in the comments.
