Gender reveal parties are hugely popular nowadays, and all of them are fun in one way or another, providing everyone with a lifetime of memories. But some are more than just fun. Some gender reveal parties turn our world into a better place for people and animals.
That was especially true after animal lovers Carlye Allen, a photographer based in Lufkin, Texas, Gracie Gonzalez, and Joy Stone put their heads together and came up with a rather novel idea for a party.
Cute Puppy Finds A Home
In May, Gonzalez happened on five beautiful puppies abandoned next to a railroad track in Texas and she knew she just couldn’t leave them there, Someecards reports. She wanted to be certain someone would give the puppies a good home and posted about them on Facebook. And that caught Allen’s attention.
Allen knew her friend Joy Stone and her husband wanted to adopt a puppy.
“I saw a post about the puppies and forwarded it to my friend,” Allen told WISTV.com. “She and her husband were wanting to adopt a rescue pup, and I thought that this one would be a perfect addition to their family. I drove two hours to pick up the puppy and my friend drove three to meet me.”
Then an idea popped into Allen’s head. Why not have a puppy-themed reveal shoot with Stone and her new puppy?
But then there’s a cute plot twist: Stone really startled her husband because she hadn’t told him about the goings-on.
“Her husband (Stone) that we had this up to our sleeves. I was hostess for a shower the day prior and happened to have a tank of helium and extra balloons in my trunk,” Allen said. “I joked about doing a gender reveal to my friend, and she loved the idea. Fifteen minutes later we were in my yard snapping pictures.”
“When my friend brought the puppy home, her husband was in shock (she posted a video on Facebook),” Allen said. “He was thrilled to welcome Rey (the couple loves Star Wars) Dakota (and the Dallas Cowboys) Stone into the family.”
This gender reveal party delighted everyone involved — including little Rey Dakota. She has a beautiful new life.
