Officer Does Routine Traffic Stop–Plunges Arms Into Bushes

In the middle of a traffic stop, Officer McGuire saw something out of the corner of his eye.  He stopped writing his traffic citation and instead, he headed over to the median.

Rummaging through the bush and leaves to find the source of movement, he brought out a tiny black kitten.  The kitten seemed lost on such a busy highway.

He carried the cat back to the car he wrote the ticket for. The officer told the driver they were off the hook today all thanks to the black cat. That person was pretty lucky!

He wrapped up the tiny kitten in the back of his car and drove away. The kitty seemed extremely frightened so he tried to get him to relax by petting him and soothing him with his voice. We’d be frightened too lost on a highway all alone with no family.

“It’s OK. I know, buddy. It’s OK,” McGuire told the kitten. “I gotta buckle up with ya.”

McGuire’s voice soothed the kitten. He called the local animal protection agency and drove the kitten there for treatment and a check up.

…at Henrico County Animal Protection, a veterinarian checked the cat out and found no serious injuries or illness.

“The kitten is still in the waiting period where they hold it to see if the owner claims it while they monitor its health and temperament before they can adopt an animal out,” Henrico Police Department told Love Meow.

At Henrico County Animal Protection, a veterinarian checked the cat out and found no serious injuries or illness. Thank goodness! The cat now awaits its adoption. This officer was so kind and loving to save this little kitten, and let the person go for speeding! Now we want this adorable kitty for ourselves.
