Sometimes there are little things in life that you can do to make a big difference in another being’s life. If you use mascara and love animals, then listen closely. Before you throw away your next used mascara wand, think again because I’m going to tell you where you can ship it in order to help animals in need.

Wildlife centers use mascara wands to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur and bodies of animals. They also use the mascara wands to remove oil from the wings of birds that have been in oil spills. In addition, the wands can be used for different types of medical care used on wildlife. Opossums, deer, birds, and squirrels can all benefit from mascara wands.

Check out the following video to see how mascara wands are used to help a bird. The little bird in the video has hydraulic grease on it. Watch how the wildlife caretaker gently uses the mascara brush to remove the grease. It is inspiring to see how a simple gesture of people sending off something that they were going to throw away, can help save a life.
Make sure to share this video with friends who may use mascara. You can directly help to save more wildlife by sending a mascara wand instead of tossing it in the garbage.
