Meet JoJo, the surfing corgi. If you were looking for something to put a smile on your face, look no further. You’re probably thinking; “I can’t even sit on a surfboard without falling off.” Well, JoJo has an advantage over all of us, seeing as he has four legs to keep balance. However, this corgi didn’t pick up surfing just for fun. Surfing is his way of therapy.
However, his natural talent for surfing was a means of therapy from a horrific attack. In 2014, Josephine was out for a walk in the park with her corgi, JoJo. Unfortunately, that day ended in tragedy when they were both attacked by two dogs. Josephine rushed Jojo to their emergency vet and underwent lots of rehab to gain strength back again.
“When my husband came home from deployment, he took Jojo out to the beach and did therapy there. [For] Jojo surfing is therapy, and it had helped him to be healthy again. He got his strength and mobility back.”
It turned out JoJo rather enjoyed his hydrotherapy.
Super Surfing Jojo!
Jojo had been severally traumatized after the attack that nearly cost him his life. Thankfully the water brought him peace and tranquility. Also, cute videos and pictures for his owners. Not only had the hydrotherapy made him good at surfing, but he also enters contests! Recently he won the Purina challenge dog competition and came in third at the
Huntington surf dog competition in 2016.
“We love being in the water we get to bond and it’s just fun being able to spend time together,” Josephine told Unilad.
Not only is Jojo an amazing competition surfer, but he also a therapy dog. “He volunteers for the military, Scripps Memorial hospital, rehabs, and elderly homes. He also goes to the city library where the kids read books to him.”
He also visits libraries where children read books to him. He is a do it all corgi!
Jojo is the definition of ‘good boy.’
When he’s not chilling at the beach or surfing, Jojo is all about chilling at home. Check out the adorable GoPro video of him surfing below. If you’d like to see more adorableness that is JoJo, check out his Instagram page where they have aptly named him SuperCorgi Jojo!
